If there is anything that is quintessential to the K-beauty revolution it is the multi-step routine to achieve impeccably moisturized skin and sheet masks. Getting started with 5-10 different skincare products can be super intimidating but sheet masks are fun and super easy! That’s why they’re my favorite k-beauty goodie and have become a skincare staple. Today, I’ll tell you all about this perfect “facial in a flash” as well as a few places to find them! Hello again! So clearly time management is not my thing because I’m like 4-5 posts behind. My bad…I’m back though and today I’ll do a brief little review of Unsun Cosmetics Mineral Sunscreen! Unsun is a black-owned sunscreen brand started by Katonya Breaux, Frank Ocean’s mom. It’s tinted and formulated to work on all skin tones especially darker skin tones! I talked a bit before about how everyone including black people need sunscreen even in the winter (and all year really). That’s why it’s so awesome that there are finally some brands that cater to people with some melanin! Let’s get on to the review! Continue reading “Unsun Cosmetics Mineral Sunscreen Review”
So I’m finally back to the reviews of items from the my Winter Skincare Overhaul! Today I’ll be talking about Neogen’s H2 Dermadeca Serum Spray! I’m all about unique packaging and applications so when I saw this I knew I had to try it! This is also one of the Soko Glam Best of K-beauty winners for 2017. This serum is supposed to be a speedy easy application that brightens and makes skin more luminous. Let’s see how it works! Continue reading “Neogen H2 Dermadeca Serum Spray Review”
So it’s officially winter! The weather has gotten chilly or straight-up blizzard-like (it has here). Trying to stay warm and navigate the weather can be a challenge. Still you can’t forget to take care of yourself and a big part of taking care of yourself is taking care of your skin! You can only undo so much, so preventing damage to your skin is key. Today I’ll be talking about the 1 skincare item everyone needs in winter: sunscreen!
A lot of people associate sunscreen with summertime. Sunscreen in your beach bag: pretty typical; sunscreen in your bag alongside your scarf and mittens: not so much. Protecting your skin from sun damage even in the winter is important and here’s 4 reason why you should start now: Continue reading “The 1 Winter Skincare Item Everyone Needs!”
Hey there! So this will be a bit of a different post. I took a moment last year to write out some of my thoughts and wanted to share. I did this once before with my mental health post and will do it again here. Reading the first one might give you some context for this one:
October 31, 2017
So I turned 25 this week. I’ve always thought of it as an important age. A quarter of a century. An adulty adult age. More-so than 18 or even 21. It’s the age when I thought I’d have my life together (or at least more together) have figured out who I am a bit more and would be on my way in my career, possibly my love life, and just all together following my dreams. That’s not how it has turned out though. I’m not sure what to make of this stage of my life right now. Continue reading “Life, Loss, and Turning 25”
Hi again! Sorry that I’m so late with this followup post! I’ve been busy with my sister visiting and getting my Etsy ready for holiday shopping. I’m finally back though! Today I’ll be doing the first review on products from my Fall Skincare Overhaul, the Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil Perfect. This cleansing oil from Etude House claims to not only deep cleanse the skin but also soften and balance it. It also promises a light texture. Let’s see how it worked! Continue reading “Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil Perfect Review”
Hi again so it’s that time of year again. The seasons are changing and it’s likely you have a neighbor (or you) that has already started decorating (or redecorating) for one of the many holidays in the upcoming months. Changes in weather also means a change in skincare for a lot of people. Lately my skin has been being a bit more irritable than normal so I’m going to be overhauling my skincare routine and blogging about it the entire way, starting off with my Soko Glam product haul! I got pretty much a whole new routine including a few of their Best of K-Beauty winners!
Etude Real Art Perfect Cleansing Oil
Oil cleansing is often touted as one of the pinnacles of a K-beauty routine, so naturally the first product I picked out was a new oil cleanser. This version from Etude House is supposed to not only cleanse but also hydrate the skin. I’ve already started using this cleanser and like it. (Review Here)
Benton Honest Cleansing Foam
I chose the Benton Honest Cleansing Foam next because of its simple description and ingredients. I noticed that my skin hasn’t been retaining moisture like it used to. Because of that, I wanted to pick up a gentler cleanser to be sure I wasn’t stripping my skin.
Klavuu Perfect Pearlsation Cleansing Water
I had to pick up another cleansing water because they are one of my favorite beauty products because they are so multifaceted! I can use them as a makeup remover, light cleanser on rushed mornings or lazy nights, and this one can even double as a toner! As the name mentions, it contains pearl extracts to help hydrate and brighten the complexion! I’m really looking forward to this one!
Hanskin Real Complexion Hyaluron Skin Essence
This is the first of two products I picked that are Soko Glam Best of K-Beauty Award winners. A theme for my skincare overhaul has been moisturizing products. This essence packs a punch when it comes to that with sodium hyaluronate which can hold 1000x more moisture than water! It also has some really cool versatility so I’m looking forward to it!
Neogen H2 Dermadeca Serum Spray
Say hello to the second Best of K-Beauty winner I got! I’ve been looking for a new inexpensive serum and this one fit the bill. I always love innovative packaging and this serum comes in spray form so it’ll be something cool to try and convenient.
Skinfood Wash Off Rice Mask
Since I’ve been concerned about my skin being stripped of moisture, I picked up a more gentle exfoliating mask. The Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Off mask is one of my favorites so I’m hoping I like this one too.
Manefit and Skinfood Sheet Masks
No k-beauty routine is ever complete without sheet masks. My eyes always need some extra care in winter so I got two regular masks and then one eye specific mask.
Etude House Eyebrow Contouring Multi Pencil
The last item in my haul while not skincare is another fun product. I needed and new eyebrow pencil and this version from Etude House has a pencil, brow gel, and brow highlight all in one!
So that’s all for today’s post! I’ll be going over most of these products one by one in the next few months so check back. I’ll update this post with links when each individual review is posted!
Do you change up your skincare routine seasonally? What are your best tips for keeping skin moisturized in winter? Leave your thoughts in the comments! And as always thanks for reading and bisous!
Hey! So I finally am getting to my first in a series of reviews of products from Beauty Bakerie! I’ll be talking about their Sugar Lip Scrub today. It’s advertised as a lip scrub to help soften and smooth the lips while also being a moisturizer! Let’s see how it worked! Continue reading “Beauty Bakerie Sugar Lip Scrub Review”
Hi everyone! Today I’m going to do a quick little post about Maybelline’s collab with MakeupShayla on one of their City Mini Palettes. This isn’t a brand new product but I saw it on a quick trip to my pharmacy and couldn’t resist picking it up so I figured I’d write a bit about it! Continue reading “Maybelline The City Mini Palette x Shayla Quick Take & Swatches”
Hi everyone! I know I have gotten super behind with this post. I had some problems with my nose piercing so I haven’t been wearing makeup for a few weeks and then on top of that I’ve been feeling really unwell. Now though, I’ve finally gotten all of my looks finished and will show them here! For anyone who doesn’t know what this post is about, I challenged myself to take one of my old barely used eye shadow palettes and use it in my makeup looks for 7 makeup days in a row. You can check out the palette and challenge details in my first post here. Let’s get onto the final looks! Continue reading “My Rediscover and Reuse It Makeup Challenge! : Days 4-7”
