Hope Girl Ultra Moist Donkey Milk Cream Review

Hi everyone! So a few weeks back, I picked up the Hope Girl box from Memebox! I’ve been loving all of the items in it (you can see an overview here). Today, I’ll be talking about the main skincare goodie that was included: the Hope Girl Ultra Moist Donkey Milk Cream! This skin cream features tiny bursting capsules filled with donkey milk! It promises intense hydration and anti-aging effects in a luxurious formula. Let’s get to the details!

Packaging

The cream has a two part packaging. The exterior cylindrical box features a a sleek yet natural black and white design. There is a brief description in English on the front and bottom of the box. Otherwise, the text is all in Korean. Inside, you will find the jar for the donkey milk cream. I was a bit surprised by how small it seemed in comparison to the exterior box. There is plenty of product though. My favorite part of the packaging is the included spatula. It is stored in its own compartment below where the jar sits. A spatula applicator makes it so you don’t have to stick your fingers into the jar! Yay for hygiene!

Product

The star ingredient of this cream is of course donkey milk! According to historical records, donkey milk has been used in skincare since ancient times. It has even been said that Cleopatra bathed in donkey milk. If being like an ancient Egyptian queen isn’t enough to get you into the donkey milk renaissance, consider its benefits! Donkey milk is packed with more vitamin C than cow’s milk. Vitamin C helps with fading dark spots, improving the complexion, and boosting collagen production. Donkey milk is also a powerful moisturizer!

Main ingredient aside, this cream is interesting to say the least. The cream is formulated in a more gelatinous texture. I’ve jiggled it a few times and it moves like Jell-O! To get the maximum effect, the donkey milk is encapsulated in small bursting beads throughout the cream. Imagine itty-bitty yellow caviar eggs, suspended in clear gel and you’ll have an idea of what this cream looks like. You don’t need much for each use because of the bursting beads. The cream feels lovely and has an immediate brightening effect when applied. The cream is fragranced with a fresh yet floral scent. It may be overpowering for some people as the scent lingers after application.

Results

The improvement of my skin while using this cream has been phenomenal! I’ve been using it for about 2 months and adore it. The cream has softened and smoothed the texture of my skin. I have also noticed some of my acne scars fading more quickly than normal. It also seems to be helping maintain the oil balance of my skin. My skin looks luminous and dewy without appearing greasy like before. It has a more lit from within appearance instead of a noticeable shine! Here are some before and after pics. I wish they did better justice to the improvement!

Final Thoughts

I love this skin cream! It has made my skin look and feel gorgeous! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good moisturizer that will also improve their skin tone and texture. The only downside would be the strong fragrance. Aside from that, there isn’t anything that I don’t like about it! HG product? I think so! You can find the Hope Girl Ultra Moist Donkey Milk Cream at here at YesStyle for U.S. and international readers (edited to reflect that Memebox no longer sells direct)!

Have you ever tried a product with donkey milk? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments! As always, thanks for reading and until next time bisous!

  1. 🙂 I am so happy to have found another blog by a black woman who uses Korean products. I just started using them. And while the other blogs it’s nice to find other women who are like me!! I was looking at this and the Donkey & Argan Steam Cream by Skin Ceramic (which I bought but I’m thinking about returning it). This one has Donkey milk in the top five and the Skin Ceramic has it all the way at the bottom of the ingrediants list. I don’t know how much donkey milk could actually be in there with it being so low on the list. I’m definitely going to try this one.

      Hi Dionne,

Thanks for commenting! 🙂 I definitely understand the sentiment of finding other women like myself in such spaces. I wish you much enjoyment on your Korean beauty journey! It’s a lot of fun and pampering trying the new products and my skin has never been happier. You’re already off to a great start by paying attention to the ingredients lists. I would agree that a product where it is so low in the ingredients list probably won’t have much donkey milk in it. I really hope you like the Hope Girl version of the cream!
