Hi again. Today, I’m going to be writing about one of the products offered by the brand NudeStix. I’ve been wanting to try some of their products for months now after I found them online. All of their products come in stick or pencil form for ease and convenience for those who want to quickly and subtly enhance their beauty. Their tagline is “Go Nude, But Better”. It sounded like a good option for easy natural looks. I’ve decided to try their Lip + Cheek Pencil in the color Sin, so let’s get to it.
One of the cool aspects of this brand and this product is the packaging. The pencil comes inside a matte black carrying tin. The tin is relatively large (2 in. x 5 in.) and could be used to hold several products. It also has a full sized mirror inside the lid. In addition to the tin, the pencil comes with an information sheet and a sharpener. The pencil itself is an average size. The design of it is a combination of matte and patent black with an accent of the product color. For a single product, I love the packaging! A+! However, if you get more products the tins for each would start to take up a lot of space.
This particular color is advertised as a rose gold.
I am truly impressed with this lip and cheek pencil. It is a beautiful rose color with a subtle touch of golden sheen. The gold isn’t outstanding, but it adds a nice shine and dimension. The stick itself is so smooth and moisturizing! It applies cleanly and effortlessly. The color payoff is great. You could do one layer for a slightly sheer look or two layers like I did for an opaque finish. When applied to the cheeks, it is very subtle and adds just a touch of flush. It blends out easily but remains very sheer on the cheeks. I definitely prefer it as a lip color but it can be used as both depending on your taste. The sharpener is good quality and designed very well. It can actually be used to replace the regular pencil cap so that the pencil and sharpener can be carried as a single piece without the case.
My one complaint in the product regard would be the smell. When applied, it has a scent similar to a crayon and it takes a while to fade.
The left is without blush and the right is with blush.
The feel of the pencil on the lips is great. It is creamy, lightweight, and non-drying. My main complaint with some lip pencils is how they can be drying. I didn’t have this problem with the NudeStix pencil though. It didn’t smudge or feather at all throughout the day. The one downside would be that it’s longevity is a bit lacking. It sets into a more subtle matte mauve stain after a few hours of wear. Though pretty, it isn’t as impactful as the rose gold it begins as. To keep the color rich, you would have to reapply it every few hours. On the cheeks, it tends to fade similarly so that would require touch-ups as well.
I think this lip pencil is great for an everyday color! It is pretty but not too out there. I’m a bit torn about whether I would buy it again though. I think it is a bit pricey at $24. I would really enjoy it if the company gave the option to buy the pencils without the case and sharpener at a lower price. Overall, I really do like it and wouldn’t completely rule out trying another one (probably will tbh 😉 ) depending on my makeup desire at the time. You can find the NudeStix Lip + Cheek pencil at Beautylish or Sephora.
