Prelab Skin Energy Mask in Soothing Energy Review

Good day everyone! Today, I’m going to be reviewing Prelab‘s Skin Energy Mask in the variety soothing energy. Prelab seems to be relatively new Korean cosmetics and skincare brand. They are owned by the same company as Scinic. Their Soothing Energy mask is an ampoule sheet mask which promises to calm damaged skin that has been irritated by environmental exposure. Since my skin has become quite sensitive to sun damage, I thought this sounded like a good one to try. Let’s get on to the details!

The first thing that caught my eye about this mask was the packaging. Unlike most sheet masks which are packaged in flat containers, this one came in a small plastic box. The package is slightly larger than my palm. On the reverse, there are directions and an ingredients list in English. There is additional information in Korean as well.

Ingredients-wise, this mask utilizes Tea Tree extract, Aloe Vera, Propolis Extract, and Sea Water. Aloe Vera is well known as a remedy for sun-burnt skin. Tea Tree oil has antiseptic and anti-fungal properties and can possibly be an alternative treatment for acne. It has been known to cause irritation in some people with sensitive skin, so proceed with caution if you’ve never used a product with it before. Propolis extract has similar qualities in addition to being an anti-inflammatory. Lastly, sea water is filled with beneficial minerals and aids the skin’s healing process.

As far as the wear goes, this mask felt so unique! As an ampoule mask, the product in it had a consistency of a serum or gel cream. The mask was so soaked it was a bit messy to put on. I also had to be careful to not get the extra serum in my eyes as I smoothed it on. It had a very light thin texture and fit well. The cooling sensation was my favorite part! It was refreshing and relaxing. It also had a fresh fragrance that was a mix of fruity and floral. The scent lingered throughout the entire time I wore it, so for someone sensitive to perfumes that is worth noting. After wearing this mask for at least 25 minutes, it was still full of serum.

After spending about a minute patting the remaining ampoule into my skin, I was thrilled with how my face looked and felt! (The pictures don’t do the results justice) My skin looked dewy and radiant. My skin also felt smoother and softer. My one downside would be that the ampoule left a subtle tackiness to my skin but it was mild. Even several days after using the mask, my skin still has a more noticeable radiance than normal! Here are some before and after pics:

Final Thoughts

This mask was a winner for me. It helped make my complexion more radiant and the results lasted for a while after the initial application. Also, the application was so calming! I feel like this would be the perfect mask for after a hot summer day. You can find the Prelab Skin Energy Soothing Energy Mask in a multi-pack here from YesStyle. (I haven’t been able to find this variety of Prelab mask elsewhere but will update the post if I come across it elsewhere with individual masks. If you live in Korea, you can purchase the mask from the Memebox site for Korea here ) Edit: June 18, 2017: I just also just came across these masks on a site called Beauteque for sale individually. I’m not familiar with the site though which is why I’m not linking it but wanted to mention it)
