Review: SNP Animal Otter Aqua Mask

Hi again! Today is time for another skincare product review! I’ll be talking about the SNP Animal Otter Aqua Mask. It is formulated to be extremely moisturizing and hydrating. It also has a cute sea otter design on it! Let’s get to the details.

Packaging

Overall, the packaging is very simple. It is a vibrant blue with a cute little sea otter face on it. The reverse of the package has both written and illustrated instructions. English directions and an English ingredient list are included as well!

Product

This mask is made with baobab extract and hyaluronic acid, a godsend for damaged and/or aging skin. For those unfamiliar with it, hyaluronic acid not only helps skin retain moisture, it has antioxidants to help prevent skin damage, and it strengthens your skin’s barrier to assist with healing existing damage. Coconut water, which is beneficial both topically and ingested, is also used as part of the essence base. Overall, I like the ingredients mix of this mask a lot.

This mask is soaked with essence! I had more leftover than I knew what to do with. I enjoyed the light fresh scent of the mask. The fragrance is reminiscent of fresh ocean air with slight sweet touches. It was very soothing but very subtle. Where this mask lost me was its fit and texture. The cut and sizing made it difficult to position on my face properly and smooth down the folds. I fiddled around with it for several minutes and was never satisfied with the fit. This mask is made of pulp. As a result, it feels thicker than the cotton masks I’ve typically used. It is a little less soft as a result but nothing uncomfortable or skin irritating. I can forgive the texture which was just different, the fit issue was much more bothersome though. As far as the wear goes, it is less luxurious and relaxing than many sheet masks I have used.

Results

The sheer amount of essence in this mask made it difficult for me to pat in the excess after removing it. (part of why my face still looks a little shiny in the before pic. My apologies.) When I first took the mask off, I didn’t see any noticeable difference, so I was disappointed. When I checked the next morning, I was genuinely impressed though. Even though the change immediately was negligible, my face looked amazing the next day! My skin was softer and much brighter and more radiant. It is the best my face has looked post-sheet mask sleep.

Final Thoughts

There is definitely a trade off with this mask. It doesn’t feel particularly nice to me, but the results are superb. I personally wouldn’t buy it again just because of the comfort factor, but it is a great mask! I’m sure it would feel just fine if the shape fit properly. It also has cute potential. I wouldn’t discourage you from trying it because sheet mask fit varies by person and just because it didn’t fit me well doesn’t mean it wouldn’t fit great for someone else! 🙂

Do you have a favorite “cute” sheet mask? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to share and subscribe! Until next time bisous!

Well…I certainly wouldn’t be the person to dissuade you from trying sheet masks 😉 I say go for it! If you’d like more recommendations on which ones are really good let me know!
